Airport Information
The Craig-Moffat County Airport is located approximately 4.5 miles southeast of the city of Craig, Colorado, at an elevation of 6,199 feet above Mean Seal Level (MSL). The airport reference point coordinates are latitude 40° - 29' - 43" N and longitude 107° - 31' - 15" W. The present airport site encompasses approximately 373 acres located within Sections 6,7, and 8, Township 6 north, Range 90 West of the Sixth Principal Meridian.
Existing aeronautical facilities of the Craig-Moffat County Airport include one primary runway oriented 7/25 (northeast/southwest). Runway 7/25 is paved with asphalt and is 5,606 feet long by 100 feet wide. The pavement section is rated at 35,000 pounds for aircraft with single wheel gear (SWG) and 40,000 pounds for aircraft with dual wheel gear (DWG). Two access taxiways connect Runway 7/25 to the aircraft-parking apron and building area. There are two turnaround taxiways on each runway end. The aircraft-parking apron consists of approximately 19,000 square yards of asphalt pavement. There are approximately 60 tie down anchors installed in the apron. A monthly tie down fee will be charged for aircraft tied down a minimum of fifteen (15) days at a rate of $30/month for single engine aircraft, $50/month for multi-engine aircraft and a $50/month helicopter tie-down fee.
Craig-Moffat County Airport Tie Down Policy
This policy applies to all users and tenants of the Craig-Moffat County Airport and all improvements thereon. Any entry upon or use of any County airport or any part thereof whether with expressed permission or without is conditioned upon compliance with this policy.
No aircraft shall be parked except in designated tie down areas, which is north of the FBO on the east side of the tarmac or as otherwise prescribed by the Airport Manager.
All aircraft shall be tied down with provided tie downs. Tie downs and chalks are located on the north side of the FBO building. Pilot and/or owner of aircraft are responsible for aircraft tie down and thereby assume all liability associated with such.
All users, tenants, owners and/or pilots of any aircraft parked or tied down at the Craig-Moffat County Airport shall indemnify and hold harmless the Craig-Moffat County Airport, the Moffat County Board of County Commissioners and Moffat County Government, its employees and agents, from and against any and all claims, damages, loses, injuries and expenses, including attorney's fees, arising out of or resulting from any use of the Craig-Moffat County Airport.
Moffat County employees will not tie down or move any aircraft at any time.
The airport shall not be responsible for any damage to, or theft from, any aircraft parked or tied down at the airport.
The Moffat County Commissioners reserve the right to amend, add to, subtract from or otherwise modify the Policy.
Aircraft owner agrees to pay Moffat County a monthly tie down fee of $30.00 per month for single engine aircraft or $50.00 per month for multi engine aircraft and a $50/month helicopter tie-down fee in accordance with Resolution #2003-50 adopted by the Moffat County Board of County Commissioners on October 31, 2003.
Tie down fees will go into effect November 1, 2003 as adopted by the Moffat County Board of County Commission at a regular meeting held on October 13, 2003.
The tie down fees will be invoiced anytime an aircraft has remained tied down for more than 15 days during a monthly period.
All payments for fees under this Policy shall be payable to the order of Moffat County, and shall be submitted and/or delivered to the Moffat County, 221 W Victory Way, Suite 110. Craig, Colorado 81625.
All payments for fees under this Policy shall be due upon receipt.
Definition of "tie down" means the area, paved, or unpaved, suitable for parking and mooring of aircraft wherein suitable tie down points have been located.
Rates and charges for aircraft tie down fees shall be subject to the requirement that all rates and charges shall be reasonable, and shall be equally and fairly applied to all users.
The Board of County Commissioners reserves the right to charge interest and late fees, reasonably related to the administrative cost of processing late payments, as such interest and fee may be instituted by the BOCC and changed from time to time.
Airport Maintenance
The Moffat County Airport Board, under the direction of the Moffat County Commissioners, runs the Craig-Moffat Airport. County hanger space is leased out by sealed bids. Ground leases for the airport are available and information on them may be obtained by contacting Jerry Hoberg at 970-824-9148.
The airport is open year round for commercial and private traffic and complete re-fueling facilities are available.

Biographical Information
The Craig - Moffat County Area is located in the northwest corner of Colorado. Moffat County covers 4,742 square miles of mostly uninhabited natural beauty and borders both Wyoming and Utah. Moffat County is known for several natural tourist attractions and bountiful hunting; boasting some of the largest deer and elk herds in Colorado. The Moffat County Airport allows hunters and tourists alike a chance to fly directly in to some of the best hunting and fishing available. The airport lies in a flat valley bordering the Yampa River with the beautiful Yampa Valley Golf Course within walking distance just to the north. Taxi service is also available to commute to local restaurants and motels.
