Moffat County is located in the northwest corner of Colorado, and covers approximately 4700 square miles. The county covers over 3 million acres of which 60% is under state, federal, or county ownership. Major industries are ranching, farming, energy production, and tourism/recreation. Moffat County has adopted the 2006 I.B.C., I.R.C. and is a member of I.C.C. Moffat County requires all contractors to be registered. Plumbers and electricians must also be registered with the State of Colorado. Contractor Registry applications are available at the Moffat County Building Department. Building permits are not required for agricultural buildings used for the sole purpose of providing shelter for livestock, poultry, and storing farm implements, and farm products. Moffat County has passed Resolution 2001-37 from the State Housing Board. This Resolution updates the current minimum construction and safety Code for Manufactured Housing Installations. Permit Fees are based on the 1994 Uniform Codes Fee Structure and are good for two years. This is in keeping with the goal of covering the basic operating costs of the Building Department. |
