| The Board of County Commissioners consists of three elected officials, each representing a geographic district, but all of whom are elected at large. As the governing body of the County, the Board of County Commissioners performs legislative, budgetary and policy-making functions and advocates for citizens at all levels of government. Equally important, the Board of County Commissioners establishes the vision and sets the direction for County government to plan for the future challenges that will face our community. | |||||||

Show Minutes From: 2010 2009 2008 2007 2006 2005 2004 2003 2002 Moffat County Agenda Policy The purpose of this policy is to establish guidelines for placing items on the Board of County Commissioners Agenda. The goal is to provide the Board of County Commissioners and staff with enough preparation time to become informed about the item and to insure that all matters brought before the Board have been properly agendized. All agenda items proposed should be submitted to the Assistant to the Board of County Commissioners or designee, as far in advance of the scheduled Board meeting as possible, but no later than five business days prior to the scheduled Board meeting. Agenda items may be faxed, emailed, or mailed. Agenda items may be phoned in as long as backup documentation is received one week prior to the scheduled meeting. The item will be placed on the agenda only after staff has had a reasonable amount of time to adequately evaluate the issue and provide informed recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners regarding the particular proposal. The Assistant to the Board of County Commissioners has the responsibility to distribute the proposed agenda items to staff and the Board of County Commissioners. It is recognized that in the case of an emergency this policy may not be followed. Any deviation from this policy will be at the sole discretion of the Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners.
