Sunset Meadows 1, located at 633 Ledford Street in Craig, was built in 1977 for the senior citizens of Moffat County. In 1983, when Sunset Meadows 1 could no longer accommodate everyone, Sunset Meadows 2 was built across the street at 595 Ledford Street. Sunset Meadows 1 & 2 are subsidized and regulated by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA). The Moffat County Housing Authority, under the direction of the Moffat County Board of Commissioners, manages both buildings. Each building houses 44 apartments, each with a living area, one bedroom and a kitchen.
